Multimedia Authoring: Jan-Feb/2010

The course is focused on the generative aspects of multimedia design and the authoring process, interface and interaction design and the control of media elements in interactive projects. Students will experiment with a broad range of media elements with an emphasis on controlling media behavior through code.

19th Jan 2010 9 – 12  :

  • Introducing and contextualizing Flash and ActionScript.
  • Math class, functions, variables, operators, arrays.

20th Jan 2010 9 – 12 :

  • Information flow: conditions, loops.
  • UI: buttons, keyboard.

21st Jan 2010 9 – 12 :

  • Creating continuous actions.
  • Movie clip: properties.

22nd Jan 2010 9 – 12 :

  • Movie clip: scope, drag and drop, collisions.

26th Jan 2010 9 – 12 :

  • Movie clip: creating classes, adding / removing objects.
  • Loading text, images, .swf files.

27th Jan 2010 9 – 12 :

  • Introduction to XML in Flash.
  • Pre-loaders, ActionScript files, structuring projects.

28th Jan 2010 9 – 12 :

  • Vectors, bitmaps.

29th Jan 2010 9 – 12 :

  • Sound.

2nd Feb 2010 9 – 12 :

  • Animation, video.

3rd Feb 2010 9 – 12 :

  • Project work.

4th Feb 2010 9 – 12 :

  • Project work.

5th Feb 2010 9 – 12 :

  • Project work (and presentation).
