Academy of Finland’s evaluation: “Excellent in reputation and excellent in fact”

The Academy of Finland has released an evaluation report focusing on research in art and design in Finland. The evaluation was carried out by an international expert panel. Research in Media Lab was evaluated as part of the TaiK.

New Universal Design and Design for All Initiatives

Academy of Finland postdoctoral researcher of Media Lab, Dr Antti Raike was nominated to coordinate the World Federation of Deaf (WFD) expert group on Universal Design (2009-2011). The WFD’s expert group works to improve voice, text and video technologies, to ensure deaf person’s access to communication technology, to incorporate the applications of universal design and technological innovations of new products, to work to improve accessibility of e-learning, and to foster policies on promoting visual-based applications.
