Media Lab at ACM Multimedia 2009, Beijing China

At the ACM International Conference on Multimedia 2009 Media Lab researchers and artists are presenting their implementation of the multimedia artwork Alan01 / AlanOnline. The work wakes up the 1952 criminally convicted Alan Turing as a piece of code within the art work – thus fulfilling Turing’s own vision of preserving human consciousness in a computer.


Marita Liulia, the newest lecturer in the Media Lab

Probably the most famous media artist in Finland, Marita Liulia, started her work in the Media Lab in the beginning of October. Marita Liulia is a versatile visual artist and a pioneer of interactive multimedia. Her production includes media art works, photography, painting and stage performances. Her works have been exhibited and performed in over 40 countries.
