Kari Kuutti is our latest docent

The research council of TaiK has decided to accept Kari Kuutti’s docentship in the Media Lab. His expertise area is “Theories and methods for design and use of digital artifacts” (“Digitaalisten artefaktien suunnittelun ja käytön teoria ja menetelmät”).

Kari Kuutti is professor in Human-Computer Interaction and Computer-Supported Cooperative Work at the Department of Information Processing Science, University of Oulu. He has also worked earlier in a similar position at Helsinki University of Technology, where he is also a docent, and is also holding another docentship in adult education at University of Helsinki. His major research interest is in theoretical understanding of the role of digital artifacts in various human activities, and development of appropiate design methods for them. He has published over 100 papers on related topics and supervised 10 PhD theses in the field. He is also interested in the history of technology.
