User Driven Open Innovation wrapped up

After two years of work the project (http://www.flexibleservices.fi/en/node/24) User Driven Open Innovation, a part of (http://www.tivit.fi/en/) TIIVIT research program at TEKES, has ended up officially.

The objective of UDOI Booster was to set up and iteratively develop a user-driven open innovation research framework that facilitates connecting users as co-designers in different phases of service innovation, design and commercialization. The project utilized and further developed user communities of the partners and studied, developed and deployed related methods and tools in concrete cases with industry partners.

The companies participating in the case studies where satisfied (http://www.vtt.fi/news/2010/topicals/05202010.jsp), all the deliverables (http://www.flexibleservices.fi/en/node/33#udoi) have been reviewed and are publicly available and the final seminar was held at VTT – Tampere in the end of May (http://www.flexibleservices.fi/fi/node/34). There are also a few papers in Reseda (https://reseda.taik.fi/Taik/jsp/taik/Research.jsp?id=4214380) written by researchers here at Media Lab.

Some general thoughts about the experience are reported in Arki research blog here: http://arki.mlog.taik.fi/2010/06/09/udoi-project-finnished/
