What I do: I am currently running the Digital Arts degree programme at the Arts Academy, Turku University of Applied Sciences. I am enrolled as an additional doctoral student at Media Lab, with the view to commence doctoral research here in 2009. In addition I am commencing doctoral research this fall at Goldsmiths College, University of London, in Arts and Computational Technology.

Background: I've been working as a professional artist for nearly 20 years. I originally trained as a sculptor, but since the early 1990's I've worked with media and internet. I've collaborated with my wife Merja Puustinen since 1992. During the mid to late 1990's we were amongst the first to develop 3D avatars and virtual worlds on the internet. Since 2002 we have concentrated on developing large scale interactive installations, sculptures, robots and sound works.
