Minor subject

Minor subject studies at Media Lab offer an opportunity for MA level students from various fields to enhance and deepen their professional skills in a multidisciplinary design and research environment, in collaboration with students and professionals of new media design and production.

The application period is for ARTS students the old one: 1.4.-30.7.2012. The JOOPAS application is open for minor subject studies for Aalto schools' students and other universities in JOOPAS system during 1.-30.4.2012.

(About Aalto mobility and JOOPAS in Into.)

This year we offer two minor subject packeges: DVD and SOiN (see below). The accepted students may get the opportunity to participate in other Media Lab activities and courses, up to 20-40 cp (ECTs); each of our minor subject packages is 20 cp minimum. Participation in the minor subject studies can also offer opportunities for additional collaboration in our research projects or further studies.

How to apply

As you see below, sending the JOOPAS application is not enough. We'd like to see some of your own text received by email. For ARTS students following application procedure is elementary because they don't fill in the JOOPAS application.

Requirements

- current enrollment in a masters level degree programme
- background and experience in areas relating to the minor subject applied for
- experience in working with digital media is recommended
- open mind, skills in communication and collaboration
- fluent spoken and written English

Please note, if you plan to apply outside of Finland: In case that your university has the exhange agreement with our university, application process is quite easy. But if we don't have the agreement, your studies here cost money (the fee is about 10 e/cr). You might also have visa problems, which we don't wish for, because it's very important that you can start your studies here in time.
