The Notion of Participative and Enacting Sonic Interaction (PESI)
abstract
Multi-model interactions with mobile interfaces aid the participatory augmentation in collaborative art works. They do not only make use of the technology but also provide an opportunity to emphasize the role of social communication and its relationship to interaction in human actions towards art. The Notion of Participative and Enacting Sonic Interaction (PESI) proposes a research around the theme of sonic interaction design, a detailed research agenda on developing computational models for enactive engagement of users in participatory interactive art context, and a toolkit system extended with sensors and mobile devices for implementation. PESI deals with designing new ways of interacting physically with digital sound in more aesthetically engaging forms. The research aims to increase the potential affordances of digital technologies to create interactions that challenge the notion of expression in collaborative music performances and result in making new forms of music.
