In January 1997 the Media Lab launched an independent production group
aimed at the development, management and production of new media projects
in the area of electronic publishing, on-line services and distance learning.
The group works closely with the UIAH administration in the development
of UIAH's on-line services and publications and to support the development
of the UIAH Intranet through consulting and programming services.

Our projects
Finnish Design Today (ongoing)
The www site presents What's happening in Finnish Design today, the Young Designers of the day and Where to see and buy the latest
objects and fancy magazines. Attention is also paid to the classics and
their works can be appreciated interactively in QTVR format. The site is produced in collaboration
with the Design Forum Finland, Design Museum Finland and the Finnish
Association of Designers, ORNAMO.
FLE (Future Learning Environment)
During 1997 - 2000 the Media Lab UIAH will produce an integrated digital

the field of multimedia. This project will be published in the Internet,
although it will be a restricted service. A pilot of this project was published during Spring 1998.
