====== ArealWIKI Instructions ======
Welcome to the wiki-website of ABS Area Balanced Scorecard project of the Future Home Institute. Wiki is an open format website where anyone can participate in writing and editing the pages.\\

===== ArealWIKI Basics =====
  * Log in (//Login/Logout// button) with your username and password.\\
  * Add your personal information to the People Behind the Areas page.\\
  * Choose your area from the list at Start page.
  * Write (or expand and improve) the short description of the area at Areal Article page.
  * Fill up the missing facts and figures at Facts and Figures page.
  * List the important milestones in the area development at Areal Milestones Page. 
  * Mark the strategic locations to the areal focus point maps at Areal Focus Points Page.
  * Illustrate the areal atmosphere by composing an areal atmosphere collage at Areal Atmosphere Page.
  * Participate in [[AREA: Discussion]] and tell your opinion about the current topics.\\
  * If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact [[AREA: People behind the ABS Research]].\\  
  * **Consult the** [[wiki: syntax | Formatting Syntax]] **before you start!**\\

===== Facts and Figures =====
  - **Upload** the Facts and Figures Excel to your computer by clicking the file name above. The chart consists of 5 sheets (Areal Project, Area, Access, Services and Customers).
  - **Fill up** the missing facts and figures to the sheets. Use the **comments** column to comment and explain the figures.
  - **Save** the file with a new name to your computer (add your name or editing date to the end of the file name e.g. abs_facts_and_figures_arabianranta_01092006.xls). 
  - **Reload** the edited file to the ArealWIKI Facts and Figures page or if you find it difficult please email it to the [[AREA: People behind the ABS Research]].
  * If the year is not specially mentioned (for example if you are asked to divide the total figure to subcategories) please give the latest figure (current status) if the construction of the area is finished or the figure of the target state (year when approx. 100% of the construction will be completed) if the area is still under construction. \\
  * Give figures in asked units as precise as possible. If the total number is asked to be divided to subcategories (//total figure by type of something//) you can give either percentage or total figure. 
  * You can use either metric or American/British unit system. If you use the American/British unit system please change the right units to the excel.\\
  * You can use your own grouping if it differs from the given (for example lines of businesses, age grouping, etc.). Explain the diverging grouping in comments column.
  * **Don't forget to save the changes you've made! **

===== Areal Focus Points =====
  * Copy a map from the article or use your own map.
  * Mark the asked focus points to the map with any suitable graphics program (e.g. Photoshop). 
  * Save the picture with a new name for example in jpg, tif or pdf format. Use the following naming practise:
nameofthearea_map_traffic/living/working/studying/services/recreation_username (e.g. arabianranta_map_traffic_helsinki01).
  * Replace the current map at the article with the new edited version of the map.
