| Eppu has been in a restaurant the night
before, and it sounds horrible to hear the wake up song
that Tessu selected for this morning. It is a bombastic trumpet piece,
to make sure he would wake up. "Why did I let him do this to me", he groans
half asleep, but knows he will not reprogram the pet. Without trumpets
he would not wake up.
He pats Tessu, who is standing beside his bed. "Ok, ok, I'll wake up", he says. "Wuf", Tessu answers and wags his tail. "Must be important news", Eppu thinks himself, because he starts to realize something worth big news must have happened during the night and the guys at the office need him, otherwise Tessu would not have woken him up this way. "It's only 7:40! And I have this headache again..." Anyway, he must go to toilet and have a shower before he wants to hear the details. In the bathroom he has also the headache pills. When he stands up, the music volume goes down considerably. |

Wake
up song: Eppu has trained Tessu to wake him up with a song when he
wants or needs to wake up. He has defined that the style of wake up music
must be peaceful classical. But if he has slept less than 6 hours, Tessu
should find a trumpet piece and play it with a bit louder volume. Tessu
can control the music system remotely through the home network.
Standing beside the bed: Tessu can move around the apartment,
and knows where his master is. Normally, Tessu is standing all the time.
When Eppu is away from home or sleeping, Tessu stays beside the charging
station. When it is the time to wake Eppu up, Tessu moves near to Eppu,
that is, goes beside his bed.
Wuf
answer: Tessu cannot speak, but it has speakers through which it sends
a few different messages. "Wuf" means yes or positive. When it recognizes
Eppu saying "ok" and "I'll wake up", it responds positively by saying "Wuf"
and wagging its tail.
Wag the tail: Tessu has a motored tail, which it can wag
when it should look glad.
Wake up: Tessu has registered that Eppu came home late
last night, and because Eppu has told it that he wants to sleep at least
four hours, it knows it should not wake Eppu up before 7:30. Eppu could
have told Tessu if he wanted to wake up earlier. Tessu knows there is nothing
on Eppu's schedule until noon, but because there are text and voice messages
marked "urgent" from Eppu's workplace, it is trained to wake Eppu up soon
after Eppu has got his 4 hours of sleep.
Music volume down: Tessu can either recognize when Eppu
stands up, or notice a new event "Bed empty" in the event table of the
home. When it notifies Eppu has stood up, it is programmed to adjust the
wake up music volume down.
