-= Introduction to the Touch =-

"The Touch" is a short fiction film, that incorporates live action with CGI animation. The production is a teameffort of 3 departments here at UIAH Helsinki, namely: Medialab, Department of Film and Television and Department of Stage Design. This co-operation is headed by Medialab.

The reasons why "The Touch" is interesting are manifold. First, there is the need to gain more know-how on the technical aspects of making such a film as Touch (as we call it) is. This involves a lot of people and their combined talents from many departments, time to plan each step, stamina to pull it all through - the actual creation process. But not only will the finnish film and television industry be enlightened by this process. We will also study interaction possibilities with live action and CGI, 3D worlds and perception regarding them, software usability and interface evaluation, teamwork analysis and optimization, and a dozen other equally important issues. So - Touch really reaches out.
