Invitation to make a Clip Kino event outside of Helsinki for first time, as part of Pispala Vilkkari Off film festival, in Pispala, Tampere.
"The occasion will be launched by Clip Kino - facilitator, artist-organizer Andrew Paterson, who will present briefly the function of Clip Kino and also the inspiring example of his own related work. The evening will continue with the watching circle offerings from the net, or video clips uploaded there being watched and informally discussed.
The occasion is open to all, and whoever wants to can put forward their desired video clips to be shown. Book now to present your choice! Shown clips should be a max length of 10 minutes. N.B.! So that the evening will go smoothly, we would prefer streaming video, in the format, for example of YouTube, Vimeo, Floobsi, or blip.tv clips.
Places of Communication - intro to the evening’s theme
How does digital and network media relate to the birth of open source -culture, thereby modifying our perception, what is permissible and possible in public space? What kind of new privacy and public space juxtaposition does new media bring to birth, or what forms could new media give birth to? We seek that watched is ; the intriguing!, the funny!, the unforeseen!, the bizarre!, the inexplicable! examples that challenge our understanding of space as a place of communication and being together.
