Game Design Study Project - Multi-player Video Poker

Mission:

Make a demonstration/prototype version of multi-player video poker game for Raha-automaattiyhdistys (RAY).

Game Concept:

• single-player mode like RAY's Joker Poker
  • 1-5 FIM bet
  • 200 FIM maximum win
  • standard 52 card deck + 1 joker card
• multi-player mode with 1-4 players
• all players have their own deck of cards
• multi-player mode works like single player mode, except:
  • bet is always 5 FIM
  • "winner takes it all"
  • time limits

Technical Details:

• client-server architecture
• Java-applications
• for Windows'95/'98/NT and Linux
• 800x600 resolution 8-bit color
• sound effects: 22.05 kHz 8-bit
