This is a story about an imaginary trip a mother and her four year old son will make together. On June 2, we will leave from Göteborg and travel through Europe by train. With us, we will have one of those Nokia 3650 camera phones, that will enable us to capture and transmit our impressions of the journey to this web site almost instantaneously. We are planning to travel in Europe between June 2. - 20. Our preliminary itinerary can be found in the section travel plan.

But in reality we will stay at home in Helsinki. The entire trip is a fabrication, we will construct, weaving together our real life experiences at home and information from other sources: timetables, advertisements, tourist guides and Internet. The imaginary journey is a game we will play together. Maybe it will teach us how to dream together.

We would also like to meet other travelers during our trip. So if you find yourself in any of those places we are about to imagine, we would like to invite you to share that place with us. Perhaps you could be, for a few hours, our surrogate traveler by sending us your images and impressions of the place. Or perhaps you could invite us to share a place with you. In the section invite us you will find the information in how to collaborate with us in imagining this journey. And in the section exchanges, you will find documented all the exchanges in the making of the imaginary journey.

This project is part of the Ideologia II Nordic art biennale in Göteborg, which takes as its starting point the writings of Guy Debord. The images constituting the imaginary journey will also be posted to the exhibition site in Göteborg. The first few days of the project, May 30. - June 1. will document the setting up and the opening of the exhibition.
