I'm Kiia Kallio from the Media Lab of the Universtiy of Art and Design Helsinki.
I'm here to present a piece of software called 3D6B editor.
3D6B editor was made as a part of a larger project, 3D6B community design environment. It was a year-long project, a spinn-off of a 3d visualization seminar. The goal of the project was to provide a system for sketching for designers, but with two additional aspects: 3d and communication.
Before going deeper to the subject, I will first tell a bit about my background. Currently my studies at the university are quite occasional, as for the last few years I've worked full-time as the lead software engineer in mobile 3d game engine development. And next week I will start as a graphic research engineer in a company doing graphics hardware R&D. So from this aspect I'm really a technologist.
However, I have also background in design. In addition to computer science, I have also studied architecture and industrial design, and worked for several years as a graphic designer, mostly in the game industry.
