Thursday 23.1.
Professional identity of the producer, skills
method: PRO=produce, rank, organize
At the beginning we might have a relatively open question, in the end we will have the task and hopelfully answer.

Through a creative discussion in Idepro-working session students try to find different gategories, questions and problems in digital media productions, which are the areas that the producer of a new media project should handle. During the seminar students work in small groups, each group study and analyze one or more vital parts from a new media production and from the professional challenges of the producer.

1. Tuottajan identiteetti / The identity of a manager

The picture above might help to find the different characteristics between different professional attitudes of the producers and between different kind of productions.

Mikä on tuottaja? Mikä on projektinvetäjä? Mikä on projekti - onko se julkinen vai yksityinen, tietylle alustalle, kulttuuria vai viihdettä... monta muuttujaa, jotka säätelevät tuottajan roolia.)

Friday 23.1.
FLE: http://virtu.uiah.fi:7070/ant

Students work in (4-persons) groups, first they share the experiences (write all the texts and questions to your FLE-site)

- of the productions which are familiar for them - what can be seen as a new media production, what can be seen as a digital media production etc
- their own professional identity
- the most important challenges and difficult tasks produser had in these productions
- the (possible) problems the working team had
- the ... etc, lets find the questions together!

--------
(Alussa kohtalaisen avoin kysymys, lopussa tulee melko varmasti tavoite, vastaus tulee seminaarityön edetessä. Opiskelijat kartoittivat parityöskentelyn avulla erilaisia kysymyksia, digitaalisen median tuottamseen liittyviä osa-alueita, joita seminaariryhmissä voisi lähteä opiskelemaan ja analysoimaan.)

Behind the Music. Profiting from Sound: A Systems Approach to the Dynamics of Nordic Music Industry (Hanna Virtanen, Rita Asplund, Tomi Hussi)

'Behind the music' is a study of the Nordic music industry, with participants from academic institutions in all the Nordic countries. The overall aim of the project is to map the structure and dynamics of the Nordic music industry, and to get a better understanding of central actors and companies through parallel case studies in the participating countries. The various national case studies will put emphasis on different aspects of the intersection between functional, geographical and institutional levels of analysis. The project is funded by the Nordic Industrial Fund and co-ordinated by the Norwegian partner.
