Ramyah Gowrishankar is a New Media designer who is interested in investigating the relationships that evolve around people and their everyday objects and is always searching for interesting stories about the world around her.
Her work is a unique amalgamation of problem solving functionality and artistic sensibilities. She has worked on projects ranging from visual communication, interaction design, film making, Animation and interactive & mobile media.
She was awarded a fellowship at The Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences(IAMAS) in Japan and has been an Artist in residence at ‘Kitchen Budapest’, a unique new media lab of east Europe and has collaborated on a number of projects with them since.
She is currently doing her Masters in New Media at Media Lab Helsinki in TaiK.

I led a team of four students from Srishti, School of Art Design and Technology through the whole process from user research to conceptualizing a phone design for a specific user category for NOKIA Design, Bangalore. The project was initiated by Jeanne Marelle of NOKIA Design, London. It was challenging, yet exciting to work with students and channel their thought processes into productive and insightful directions for the project.
