GLASS BEAD (TYA 642: 2806)
Type: Fragment of a yellow serial bead.

Site: Raisio, Ihala, Mulli abode.
Period: Viking Age / Crusade Age / Early Middle Ages
Dating: 980-1220 A.D.

This bead was manufactured by spreading a layer of bright yellow melted glass on the colourless base glass. The form and the diameter of this bead is quite typical to the multipart beads with a small hole found in the Viking-Age cemeteries.
