These things I wrote as my hobbies when we were looking for our apartment in Helsinki: arts, gardening (refering to my 5 windowpane plants..), aikido and Japan. Not so far from truth indeed.. 1) I am genuinly interested in contemporary arts and basically follow the scene for almost 9 years. I have some formal education in arts history and have had couple of arts critics publications in Lithuanian media. Before I completely swapped to computers I was able to use a pencil and watercolor.. Now we occationally do some small arts pieces with my friends, for example, some video art for Koneisto festival (2002). Check the screenshots. I still believe that I can make my boyfriend interested in the Arts xarts too (not only 'popular arts' as he calls them). 2) I'll skip the gardening part. You know, I don't have a garden.. And the parsley on the windowpane is not doing too well lately.
3) During 4 years I have started the aikido beginners course 3 times, but for some reason wasn't able to finish.
The right place for me was Helsinki Aikikai. They made me sweat and somehow I passed the first belt exam.
Amazing thing, that you
can learn to do something like
that in half a year. I'm planning to pick up my aikido training here in SIngapore too. 4) I don't have much to say about Japan. Just that I really like their aesthetics and one day will definitely go there. Singapore is not that far from there.
